Texas’s Tarrant County is home to the city of North Richland Hills, sometimes abbreviated as NRH. As a suburb of Fort Worth, it falls in the mid-to-high end range and is part of the Mid-Cities area within the larger Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The initial streets in North Richland Hills were named after the families who lived there. In 1954, a new section was added, and it was named after various car models. The first phase of the subdivision consisted of 188 homes, all of which were required to be built using brick or stone construction.

North Richland Hills can be found at a latitude of 32 degrees, 51 minutes, and 20 seconds North (32.855666) and a longitude of 97 degrees, 13 minutes, and 5 seconds West (–97.218184).

The city’s geographical area, as reported by the United States Census Bureau, spans 18.2 square miles (47.2 km2), with 18.2 square miles (47.1 km2) being land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2), equivalent to 0.24%, being water.

The schools in North Richland Hills are part of the Birdville Independent School District, with the exception of the northernmost area, which falls under the Keller Independent School District. The city has two public high schools, Richland High School and Birdville High School, providing educational opportunities for local students.

In North Richland Hills, several private schools offer quality education to students. These include Fort Worth Christian School, St. John the Apostle Catholic School, which is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, North Park Christian Academy, and North Richland Hills Montessori.

The North Richland Hills Fire Department (NRHFD), also known as North Richland Hills Fire-Rescue (NRHFR), is a vital public service that focuses on preventing and extinguishing fires.

However, their role extends beyond firefighting, as they are also responsible for responding to various medical emergencies unrelated to fires. To fulfill this dual role, all NRHFD personnel are trained in both firefighting and paramedicine, and their vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art life-saving equipment.

The Texas Fire Chiefs Association has acknowledged the department as a department that follows best practices.
