Bolingbrook is a village located in both Will and DuPage counties in Illinois, USA. Positioned as a southwest suburb of Chicago, it sits along I-55 and the historic Route 66 (Frontage Road).

Bolingbrook is about 28 miles to the southwest of Chicago’s city center.

According to the 2020 census, the village was home to 73,922 individuals, 23,165 households, and 18,354 families.

Bolingbrook, a suburb of Chicago, was incorporated in 1965. The majority of its structures, including businesses, homes, churches, and other buildings, were constructed after 1960, much like the neighboring village of Woodridge.

In 2019, Bolingbrook is home to the corporate headquarters of 24 companies of different sizes. Among these, the largest are Ulta Beauty, a national cosmetic retailer, and WeatherTech, a manufacturer of vehicle floor liners.

John J. “Jack” Leonard played a key role in the village becoming an official entity and also held the position of the village’s initial mayor.

Pace offers bus transportation on various routes that link Bolingbrook with various locations across Chicagoland.

Bolingbrook has several important highways, such as Interstate 55 and Interstate 355, as well as Historic US 66, Route 53, and Route 126.

Bolingbrook is primarily served by Valley View School District 365U and Fountaindale Public Library District, which also extend to Romeoville. However, other school districts that cover Bolingbrook include Plainfield School District 202, Indian Prairie School District 204, Naperville School District 203, Woodridge School District 68, and Downers Grove High School District 99.

The Park District’s initial new construction, the Deatherage-Drdak Center, was completed in 1974 using solely volunteer labor. Over the next thirty years, the Bolingbrook Park District expanded to encompass various forests and recreational areas, multiple community facilities, the Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Complex, and the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex (BRAC). Recently, the Bolingbrook Park District was recognized as one of the top four contenders for the prestigious National Gold Medal Award, honoring excellence in park management, facilities, and programs.

Bolingbrook, Illinois has been home to a diverse array of notable individuals throughout the years. Mustafa Ali, a professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, was born in the village. Kenneth Boatright, a free agent football player, grew up in Bolingbrook. Ronnie Bull, a retired NFL running back, has made Bolingbrook his home. Troy Doris, an Olympic triple jumper, has ties to the village. J.J. Furmaniak, an infielder in professional baseball, was raised in Bolingbrook. Jerry Harris, a cheerleader featured on the TV series Cheer, hails from the village. Anthony Herron, a former pro football player and current broadcast analyst, has roots in Bolingbrook. Ben Moore, a basketball player in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, was born in Bolingbrook in 1995. Sadly, Michael S. Pearson, a victim of the Fort Hood shooting in 2009, was raised in the village. Drew Peterson, a former Bolingbrook police sergeant, made headlines for his suspected involvement in the disappearance of his fourth wife and was convicted of drowning his third wife. Lastly, Steve Williams, a football free agent, was raised in Bolingbrook.
