Campton Hills is a municipality located in Kane County,
The village was founded on May 14, 2007, by including 20.3 square miles of Campton and Plato townships, along with the unincorporated area of Wasco. This incorporation happened after a referendum on April 17, where 55 percent of voters supported the idea of incorporating the village.
The village of Campton Hills is situated in a picturesque location, surrounded by other charming communities. To the east, it is bordered by Saint Charles, while Lily Lake lies to the west. Elburn is located to the south, and Elgin marks the northern boundary of Campton Hills.
According to the 2010 census, the population was 11,131 individuals, with 3,492 households, of which 90.4% were family households.
In the summer of 2012, the village unveiled a thorough plan, detailing its aspirations and blueprints for future growth. This encompassing document delved into the village’s rich history, demographic makeup, and guiding principles, as well as a roadmap for future development, including strategies and proposals for enhancing commercial, residential, and community spaces.
