West Dundee is a municipality located in Kane County, Illinois, in the United States. According to the 2020 US Census, the village has a population of 7,686. Situated in the far northwest region of Chicago, West Dundee is often regarded as a suburb of the city.

The village of West Dundee is situated on the western bank of the Fox River, facing East Dundee and Carpentersville on the opposite side.

Based on the 2010 census data, West Dundee covers a land area of 3.71 square miles (9.61 km2) and a water area of 0.101 square miles (0.26 km2), making up 97.35% and 2.65% of its total area respectively, with a combined total area of 3.811 square miles (9.87 km2).

The town obtained official status in the year 1887.
