Addison, a town with official status in Dallas County, Texas, is located directly to the north of Dallas city in the United States.

The construction project for the Addison Airport Toll Tunnel, costing $26.8 million and taking three years to finish, was finalized in February 1999. It aimed to ease congestion on Belt Line Road and reconnect Keller Springs Road, which had been divided due to the building of Addison Airport 42 years earlier.

Addison is surrounded by Dallas to the north, east, and south, as well as by Carrollton to the west and Farmers Branch to the west and south.

According to the 2020 US Census, the town was home to 16,661 individuals, 8,342 households, and 3,217 families

The town boasts about having a higher number of restaurants per person compared to any other city in the United States, with close to 200 restaurants.

Addison is famous for hosting the first establishments of Texasogo de Chão, two Brazilian Churrascaria chains that are currently expanding across the country quickly.

Addison boasts 118 acres of lush parkland, providing ample space for outdoor recreation and relaxation. The town’s first park was established in 1978, marking the beginning of Addison’s commitment to preserving green spaces. The Alfred J. Loos Athletic Complex, managed by the Dallas Independent School District, is a popular destination for sports enthusiasts and families alike.

Residents of Addison who fall within the DISD region can attend George H. W. Bush Elementary School, which is situated in Addison and serves most of the area. However, those living outside of the school’s attendance boundary will not be provided with transportation to attend Bush. Alternatively, Anne Frank Elementary School in Dallas and Jerry Junkins Elementary School in Carrollton are other DISD elementary schools that serve sections of Addison.

M. W. Morris held the esteemed position of first mayor of Addison, accompanied by a team of esteemed aldermen, including Guy Dennis, Robert W. Wood, J. E. Julian, Jr., Dr. H. T. Nesbit, and Seldon Knowles.
