Hornsby Bend, located in Travis County, Texas, is a census-designated place that was established for the 2010 census. At that time, the population was 6,791, but by 2020, it had grown to 12,168. The area is named after Reuben Hornsby, an early settler and postmaster during the Republic of Texas era. Interestingly, Hornsby’s great-grandson, Rogers Hornsby, a renowned baseball player, is buried in Hornsby Bend.
