Lisle is a village located in DuPage County, Illinois, within the Chicago metropolitan area and the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor. Additionally, it serves as the base for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region III.

DuPage County established its initial townships in 1849, with the suggestion of naming one of them Lisle coming from early resident Alonzo B. Chatfield, originally from Lisle, New York. This proposal was approved, leading to the formation of Lisle Township. The village was officially granted incorporation on June 26, 1956, and it too took its name from Lisle, New York.
