As of the 2020 census, Morton Grove, a village in Cook County, Illinois, had a population of 25,297 residents.

In the early 1830s, a small group of farmers from England established themselves in the region, despite the lack of proper roads and infrastructure. This was made possible by the outcome of the Black Hawk War and the subsequent Treaty of Chicago in 1833, which led to the departure of Native American tribes from the area.

Morton Grove made history in 1981 by becoming the initial American town to ban the ownership of handguns.

Morton Grove covers a land area of 5.09 square miles (13.18 km2) as indicated in the 2021 census gazetteer files. The suburb is divided by the North Branch of the Chicago River, with both sides of the river falling under the Cook County Forest Preserve.
