The region experiences hot and humid summers and mostly mild to cool winters. Roanoke is classified as having a humid subtropical climate according to the Köppen system, identified as “Cfa” on climate maps.

In the city, as of the2020 U.S. census, there were 9,665 individuals, 3,229 households, and 2,236 families living.

Walmart and Randall’s/Tom Thumb come in fourth and fifth, respectively, employing 400 and 360 individuals. Home Depot, Cardinal Health, Amerisource Bergen, Behr Process Corp, and Heritage Bag round out the list, providing jobs for 325, 270, 260, 240, and 210 people, respectively.

Roanoke is within the Northwest Independent School District, which includes several elementary schools such as Roanoke Elementary School, Wayne A. Cox Elementary School, J. Lyndall Hughes Elementary School, and Granger Elementary. Middle school students in Roanoke typically attend either Medlin Middle School or John Tidwell Middle School, while high school students are zoned for Byron Nelson High School located in Trophy Club.
