Roselle, a village in Illinois, is a suburb of Chicago and lies within both DuPage County and Cook County. Incorporated in 1922, it was initially established as a residential community, with its train station serving as a convenient hub for commuters traveling to Chicago or nearby suburbs for work. According to the 2020 census, Roselle has a population of 22,897.

Settlers started arriving in the vicinity of the present-day village of Roselle in the early 1830s, living alongside the indigenous Potawatomi people. Silas L. Meacham and his siblings Harvey and Lyman established their settlement in what is currently recognized as Bloomingdale Township. The government had been making land available in the region for approximately $1.25 per acre.

Based on the 2021 census data, Roselle spans 5.61 square miles in total, with 98.64% being land and 1.36% water. Goose Lake and Spring Creek, which flows into the East Branch of the DuPage River, are significant water features in the area. Additionally, Turner Pond is an artificial pond situated north of the town center.

Roselle benefits from a convenient Metra rail station on the Milwaukee District West Line, offering regular service between Elgin and Chicago Union Station, making daily commutes and travel easy and accessible.

The village has three primary areas designated for commercial use. One is situated along Lake Street (U.S. Route 20) on the town’s southern border, the second is located near the historic center of Park Street and Irving Park Road (Illinois Route 19) in the village’s center. The third commercial zone is along Nerge Road on the northern outskirts of the village.

Roselle receives educational services from various school districts. Lake Park Community High School District 108 serves most of Roselle, while western parts are under Keeneyville School District 20, which includes Waterbury Elementary. Medinah School District 11 covers eastern areas, with its middle school situated within the village. The northern section of Roselle is within Schaumburg School District 54, and the southern part falls under Bloomingdale School District 13. Additionally, there are non-public elementary schools in Roselle such as St. Walter Catholic School, Trinity Lutheran, and Medinah Baptist.

Roselle, Illinois, has been home to a number of notable individuals throughout its history. Don Schulze, a pitcher for five Major League Baseball teams, including the Chicago Cubs in 1983-84, was born in Roselle. Don Sunderlage, an All-Star point guard for the Milwaukee Hawks and Minneapolis Lakers, also hailed from Roselle. Mark Gorski, a track cyclist and gold medalist at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, attended Lake Park High School. Glenn Kotche, a renowned drummer and composer best known for his work with the band Wilco, was named the 40th greatest drummer of all time by Gigwise in 2008 and attended Lake Park High School.
